The 2016 Simple Hydration Racing Team

Posted January 29th, 2016 by Brian Hock

This year’s Simple Hydration Racing Team is comprised of our Ultra Racing Team and Racing Team members. Ultra Racing Team runners are those that compete at the marathon distance and above on trails and/or roads. The Racing Team (new this year) are those runners that compete at the marathon distance down to the mile in road races, track events and/or cross country races. Our runners will be competing in next month’s US Olympic Trials Marathon to top ultra distance races such as Western States 100, Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc and the Badwater Ultramarathon later this year.

The 2016 Team features 9 returning runners from last year including David Laney, 2015 Ultra Runner of the Year. We’ve expanded the team from 14 runners a year ago to 22 runners. New runners include elite marathoners Brianne Nelson, Alisha Williams and 3-time US Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier Patrick Rizzo. Top European ultra runner Yeray Durán López and Australian (3rd place finisher at 2015 Badwater) Mick Thwaites will help Simple Hydration shine oversees.

It’s going to be an exciting year. Be sure to follow this year’s Racing Team on Facebook, Twitter and all social media to see how our members are doing and spreading some Simple Hydration love in 2016.

2015 – Year In Review

Posted January 4th, 2016 by Brian Hock

What a year! This past year saw a Simple Hydration Ultra Racing Team that had its best group of runners yet. We also selected a diverse group of athletes to make up our first ever Simple Hydration Run Team, featuring runners of all abilities. The Simple Hydration Bottle showed up in new locations around the globe, including Antarctica and Dubai among others. We added new distributors in Norway, Hong Kong and Spain. Our bottle was spotted in many videos and in a few magazine articles, including the October issue of Inventors Digest. So lets take a look at each month and see the results, news and events that helped shape this great year.

- For a third year in a row we announced our Simple Hydration Ultra Racing Team. The 2015 team included runners Mike Aish, Mike Ambrose, Brian Donnelly, Ashley Erba, Micky Graglia, Scotty Hawker, Silke Koester, Damien Nathaniel, Ryan Smith, Meredith Terranova and Paul Terranova.

- We also launched the Simple Hydration Run Team made up of runners of all abilities to represent Simple Hydration and be ambassadors of the brand.

- We created and shared the video Simple Mountain Running. It was a collaborative effort with the Rocky Mountain Runners of Boulder, Colorado.

- Ultra Racing Team’s Paul Terranova won the USATF 100 Mile National Champion.

- Simple Hydration was excited to sponsor the JB Benna film “The Long Haul – John Muir Trail.” The film documents the journey of top ultra runners Hal Koerner and Mike Wolfe as they attempt to set the Fastest Known Time running the John Muir Trail.

- Simple Hydration Bottle was used in a 50K race in Antarctica thanks to fans Christy and Paul Gossett.

- Run Team’s Rees Buck finished 3rd at the Tarawera 65K in New Zealand.

- Ultra Racing Team’s Ashley Erba won the Moab Red Hot 55K in Utah.
