Doritos – Cool Ranch

When The Lads call me daddy.

7.) What runner inspires you?

Mic Medeska (pictured) and that 12 year-old girl in the purple, sparkley sweater that almost beat me in a 5k

8.) What is your favorite workout?

Anything outdoors

9.) What is your favorite running shoe?

Topo, all their shoes are great

10.) What is your favorite race medal or award?
My first one, For Children With Love

11.) What race would you highly recommend?
Any race that helps give back to something that matters to you

12.) Have you ever bonked in a race?
Not yet but it is coming

13.) How many miles have you covered without walking during a run or race?

Just over 3…..hey I am a nearly old man

14.) Do you prefer running in the summer or winter?

Summer…..winter is evil

15.) What is a fun fact about you?

I once danced back up for singer comedian Mark Lowry…..it’s true!

1.) What is your favorite color?

Yellow

2.) What is your favorite song right now?

Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron

3.) What is your favorite book?

Waterlogged by Tim Noakes

4.) What is your favorite movie?

The Music Never Stopped

5.) What is your favorite snack food?
Fresh pineapple

6.) What is your favorite word?
Grit

7.) What runner inspires you?

Karl Meltzer

8.) What is your favorite workout?
Getting some vertical. There is a local trail with about 3,000’ vertical in just over 2 miles.

9.) What is your favorite running shoe?

Pearl Izumi Trail N2

10.) What is your favorite race medal or award?
A sandstone clock that was an age group award from my first marathon finish 26 years ago.

11.) What race would you highly recommend?

Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run

12.) Have you ever bonked in a race?

Yes, it has happened more than once in a single race. Knowing how to work through it is key.

13.) How many miles have you covered without walking during a run or race?

26.2

14.) Do you prefer running in the summer or winter?

Summer, when the high alpine single track opens up. I like winter too.

15.) What is a fun fact about you?

My first 100 mile run was the Wasatch 100. I crossed the finish line in 36:01, just 1 minute past the cutoff time. I was listed as DNF in the results that year. I have now finished that race 6 times and have taken over 10 hours off my time from that first year.
